I’ve no allegiance to shame
I shall not let it cross my face or my heart
There is nothing more that I can do
I will not regret or return to that place

I’ve given my strength and loyalty
For this one last time to burn
The time has flown and unattended escaped
Passing swiftly then slowly then stopping again

The wonder and amazement have fled
Gentleness, comfort and contentedness lie quietly here
Passion and flagrant disregard reside elsewhere in my heart
That is no longer your place

Your place is the quiet, serene at fire’s edge
Someone else has stepped closer to enrage the fire
Lust and debauchery lick at the edges of this place
The heat is deafening and inescapable, unquenchable

Feelings here will rock the foundations and explode
When loyalty and love step up hard, the fire rages and roars
There is peace in the heat and at the core hunger
A different kind of content, satiated desires

Raging emotions and longings to be fulfilled
A hand that deals both pleasure and needed, wanted pain
A burning loyalty and strength to match my own
This, this is the place where fire lies breathing

Inhaling the passion and trust burning steady and hot
I will not regret or return to that place
I shall let hope and joy cross my face and my heart
My only allegiance shall be to love.
